Regarding our new arrival . . .

While what I told the students is essentially true--Cain Marko is the new groundskeeper at the school--there are a few details I omitted at his request. I expect you to exercise your considerable discretion with what I am about to tell you.

First, Cain Marko is my stepbrother; this mansion is as much his home as it is mine, though for the past thirty years I have believed him dead. An accident during his tour in Vietnam left him with several extraordinary abilities, one of which is his youthful appearance; he is in fact only a few years my junior.

Secondly, he is here under the conditions of a Federal plea bargain. He is allowed to leave the campus, but not the country without notifying Federal authorities, which should not pose a problem; he is here because he chooses to be here. I do not consider him to be any danger to the students; nor should you.

Finally, the old quarry on the other side of Sputen Dyvil Cove is now off-limits to all students. Cain has asked that it be reserved for his use.

My brother came to me seeking peace, and as much of a normal life as it is possible for him to live given his condition. I have given my word that I will do everything in my power to grant his wish, and I hope that I can count on you all to help me keep my vow.

Thank you. Cain, once again: welcome home.

*spews a mouthful of hot coffee*

...well, that's one hell of a Thanksgiving present.

...do you give presents at Thanksgiving or just stuff yourself silly?
