Oh, first of all, hey all. Rather nice to be non-amnesiac again.
Anyway. I think we should be implementing Maddie's mentorship idea. In the sneakiest and most informal way possible, of course, otherwise the kids will smell a rat and while the ensuing defensiveness might wind up being kind of entertaining in a perverse way, I think we could probably do without it. This is not me getting back in touch with my organizational self, by the way. I think we should each just choose a kid or two and have at it. Look for some kind of natural 'in', if possible.
Personally, I have at least two that I can think of right now. Doug would be an obvious choice for me, seeing as though I already told him we'd be spending a lot of time together - and the amnesia might have put me in a mellow mood, but there are still lots of workouts and plenty of research into things like how Kevlar actually works in Mr. Ramsey's future. I thought I might take a crack at the new kid, Forge, too, since I see he showed some interest in the contents of the garage.
If you really don't feel like you're up to this, don't feel obligated. If you try it and it doesn't work with your first target, try another. I don't think this can be forced on either side, or it really won't work. But Maddie had a good idea, and I think we should run with it and see what happened. Although we can't make them talk to us when they have problems, a certain level of obnxious persistence might serve to remind them that they do have the option.

Date: 2004-10-30 10:07 am (UTC)He and I have something in common, something no one else here can really relate to. Might be good to let him know he's not alone in the artificial-bits department.
Salaam,
