Last minute travel

My dad's been in a car accident, so can somebody take my classes for a week? Maybe more. Lesson plans are going to the shared drive now. My mom's not giving me a lot of details and that's kinda freaking me out because she also wants me to go home to help which is really freaking me out because she says he's gonna be fine but is gonna be laid up for a while. Hopefully it's just heavy lifting but she's using her nurse voice so I'm kinda worried.

Already got a flight, Dori's gonna drive me to the airport. Once I know how long I'll be out I'll let you guys know.

Namor, Sue and Tandy

Heads up to all staff.

On their way home from Italy the girls were kidnapped by the same demons who kidnapped Tandy earlier. Namor picked up while in the city and teleported to Italy.

Tandy was possessed by the demon responsible for the chaos in New York. Luckily Amanda was able to drive out the demon and put an end to the situation.

Physically the kids are all ok, just banged up with some cuts and bruises, mentally I don't think it's been such a clean bill of health. They were withdrawn and moody last night when I met them. I think it's a good idea for us to just an eye on the kids over the next few days just so we can be sure they're alright after their experience. We all know how much this can affect someone.

Incident involving Molly and Namor

Today Molly and Namor were involved in an incident in Salem Center. The short version is that Molly saw a fight, tried to intervene, Namor got involved, and one of the assailants produced a gun. Neither of our residents were injured, but there is a small possibility of retaliation from their assailants. The professor is aware and keeping an eye out for that eventuality.

Molly confessed she has been signing out to "fight crime" in the evenings, and that this is not the first time she's intervened on a crime in progress. Fortunately she hadn't been identified and no reports had been filed. She has agreed to stop, but she is not allowed to sign out of the mansion unsupervised for a month.

The professor and I can provide further details if necessary. In the meantime, we'll be trying to figure out the best way to address the issues behind her actions.

For those wondering about the noise last night, it seems Topaz's empathy triggered while she was asleep and Molly reacted to it by destroying a window. We have determined the bleed was accidental and therefor will not be pursuing any disciplinary action.

The girls are fine, but as a precaution we will be moving Topaz in with Maddie to her and Hope's suite. Maddie's shields should prevent a similar issue from happening in the future.

Notice to staff

As of today we have a new student at the school. Tyrone Johnson.

He's the student who arrived with Tandy last night. There was a problem with him being chased but the two of them seem to have evaded his pursuers. We've decided to offer him a place at the school, and for the time being he seems safe. However it would be in everyone's best interests if we kept our eyes open in-case his pursuers start to close in on him again.

If anyone requires more information then Ill be in my office all day.

Tandy Absent

Tandy'll be spending today at her uncle's church. I don't think she'll be in class tomorrow, either. And we're heading to Ohio after Thanksgiving for the weekend. So she probably won't be in class for the rest of the week, now that I think about it. But I'll try to get her to do her homework, at least, so I'll have one of her friends collect her assignments for her.

Tandy won't be in classes today. She's sick. Nightmares came back last night. Not fun.

I'm taking a sick day, too. If I don't, someone whose name rhymes with Farton may just get flunked today, and no one wants that.

Notice to Staff

For those who are X-Men this will be a repeat of information:

While in New York City on a field trip the students were attacked by creatures known as Slendermen (or Slenderman), who prey on the vulnerable and consume their fear.

The children were drawn in to the Slendermen's dimension but one of the students, Madelyne Pryor, was able to escape and alert X-Force, who rescued them and took care of the matter.

Some of you may think this an internet rumor or 'meme' but I can assure you it is no joke. Among the Slenderman's abilities is the power to make people think they don't exist, except for those who they are preying on.

There was some psychic feedback due to the disruption on the astral plane that was felt by some of the higher function telepaths, including Charles, Emma, Betsy, and myself. It was, unfortunately, not enough for us us to notice much more than a migraine, however.

Ms. Pryor was able to telepathically relay to us what had transpired and we believe her, as well as the students and X-Force, who were there in the Slenderman's dimension.

Charles, Haller and I will be on hand to provide proof of the Slenderman's existence by showing these memories and making others aware to overcome the Slenderman's influence. This is mandatory.

Anyone who heard from the students and did not believe their story will be absolved from blame due to the Slenderman's influence.

A note on Hope Abbott

I know some of you have noticed Hope's spells seem to be getting worse, and some of her peers have expressed concern too. Today I found her passed out in the hall between classes and we had a discussion about the potential root cause of the episodes. From that conversation I was left with the impression that her manifestations are tied very closely to anxiety, unhappiness, and other negative emotions she is prone to internalizing. This is in part due to her additional course-load and complicated by certain family dynamics. She was drained after the conversation so I instructed her to take the rest of the day off.

The professor has just finished a very long phonecall to Hope's parents about giving her some space and how detrimental it would be to remove her from the school at this point. It's our hope that they will take his advice to heart and give her some time to breathe.

Please watch Hope in class for the next few weeks. If the spells continue to be frequent or worsen please tell me or the professor. Because Hope is very private with her emotions it's difficult to gauge her stress-level, so at the moment her level of control may be the most reliable way to assess her state of mind.

Has anyone else had any problems with Hope? She's been ghosting out a lot in my chemistry classes, I've had to stop her from doing any experiments since it's too dangerous if she were to collapse in the middle of one.

Mansion Chess Club?

Hello colleagues,

I've been thinking a lot lately about starting a chess club at the school for the high school students and taking them to compete against other schools after the team is registered with the appropriate associations. So part one of the question should probably be does anyone have a massive problem with this happening (providing your reasoning is not just that chess is for nerds, which will earn you a beating) and the second is, does anyone want to help me with it? I know a couple of you play and I don't want to keep anyone else from sharing the ~~responsibility~~ fun!

Notice Regarding Matt Murdock

Earlier in the day while visiting Matt Murdock, Amanda Sefton caught him with a number of ecstasy tablets. After administering a drug test I discovered trace amounts in his system. He is back on drug tests for the indefinite future and is currently residing in the Medlab undergoing withdrawal. Professor Xavier and I have already spoken to him regarding his actions.

I would ask that you take sensitivity in the matter and refrain from telling rest of the student body for now unless necessary.

He is currently not seeing any visitors for either encouragement or admonishment and if anyone tries I will boot them out physically if I have to. Don't try. Don't ask. I will let you know. Just because this is a school with a medical facility in it doesn't mean you can do whatever the hell you want in the medlab. There are rules for a reason. We're not doing it because we're mean.

If you have questions stop by my office or call me on my cell phone.

Potential New Student

Not sure if anyone heard in the news (I had to dig to find it) but a few days ago a teenage girl who had run away from her home in Ohio manifested while defending herself from some thugs in the city. She's been released from hospital and was sent back home, but her uncle is an acquaintance of mine and approached me today asking if I could talk to her about coming here.

Her mother is an old colleague and between my memories of the woman and what the girl's uncle has told me, seems like the girl's home life is pretty shit, so the mansion's looking pretty good despite everything lately.

I'm gonna fly up there Friday to feel out the situation and talk to the mother.

Chaperones for the Genosha Protest

Looks like some of the students are interested in attending the protest. As it's taking place during school hours when we're responsible for them, Professor Xavier has agreed that arranging for chaperones and to get a bus to keep them all together where they can be monitored in case of any danger would be a good way to try and protect them in case any agitators show up. Any takers for chaperoning, or any recommendations?

Run Run Rudolph Secret Santa

Good Morning,

In an attempt for some nearly belated holiday spirit I'd like to ask for some volunteers to be elves for a Secret Santa gift exchange for the New Mutants.

I'd like to get them interacting on a more individual level. Some seem to be splintering off into groups by themselves and I'd like to give them a chance to potentially interact with someone they might not interact with. Since it's a secret santa it'd be natural for them to wonder who theirs is so it'd probably get them talking to one another.

Any takers to be elves to maintain the secrecy?

In order to prevent any problematic side effects from Vanessa's healing spell, as Amanda mentioned in her previous entry, we would like to ask that the staff take the students and any other vulnerable people away from the mansion at least until later this afternoon.

I will give one of the staff members a call when it is safe to return.

But I already kinda told the guy I was gonna narc on him - Matt mentioned pounding on Artie for his post and comments to Molly and I walked my ass all the way back up here from Harry's cause it looked like the comments got pretty buried, and yeah, I'm smelling blood and I'm pretty sure Artie's hurting.

I know that this will seem funny to a lot of you as being an idiot and an asshole hasn't exactly been out of character for me in the past but after since his attitude is starting to cause serious threats of physical and/or pyschological violence between the students, graduates and apparently even some staff it is my opinion the entire staff team should start to look into this problem. I do not know the correct solution but we need to work out something because some of the staffs current stance on threatening the people that are under our care and responsibility is not good enough and as much as sometimes i want to punch that boy in the face... we need to work out a punishment system that work for him.
