(no subject)

The man I fought last night left behind his mechanical hand, and also . . . some sort of wires, from his eyes, that he had attached to the door leading to the Professor's Cerebro device. I have left them where they fell, so that someone more skilled in such things than I may examine them.

I am no stranger to those who would sacrifice their humanity for what they perceive to be power, but--with your pardon, Haroun--these 'cyborgs' unnerve me on a level that even the most demon-ridden sorcerer does not. Nothing was left of the man I fought but his head, and even that was altered, in ways that go far beyond medical necessity. I do not understand what drives such people.
