Okay, I know this isn't the best ethical medical policy, and I'll be going to confession on Sunday expecting to get a nice heavy penance (once the priest stops the hysterical laughter, that is), but um... IkindasortadruggedAli.

She was on what looked to be her third night without sleep, and Hank's left plenty of notes on her file in red ink about how she gets when she's on the no-sleep kick. And after having Scott go through meltdown, well, it was poetic justice, really. So she's sleeping, and will be for about the next twelve hours. Besides, she did _ask_ me to give her something to help her sleep, she just didn't say _when_.

Moira, Nate, you up for getting Miles breakfasted and explain to him that Mommy's sleeping for a while because she's been very busy? Don't mention the part where Mommy's a stupidhead for not coming to us of her own accord for help sleeping, by the way. Cain, you up for Miles-sitting during the rest of the day, and possibly the evening? From her files, Ali tends to crash hard anyway when her body slows down long enough, so it could be she won't be up until tomorrow morning. I'd take him on myself but there's a) medlab and b) medlab and c) classes. If it's a problem, then I'm sure we'll have plenty of volunteers to keep an eye on him.

Oh, and as for our Fearless Leader *waves to the nice Captain* Scott's up and about again and looking much better for his nap. So neener.

And I hope you all take this as a warning. No sleep derivation psychosis on my watch. Not when I have my handy tranq gun. *pats it lovingly*

...You shot her with a tranquillizer gun? Whatever happened to sleeping pills in the coffee?

Seriously, this was a job well done, Madelyn. I suspect Alison needed the sleep as much as Scott did.

Of course. I am sure I can come up with a reasonable excuse for her absence. Illness, if nothing else.

Of the medlab helpers, Amanda and Rahne I am sure would understand if you explain the simple truth. Clarice, I am less sure... do you need all three of them today?

I think all the children are under a great deal of stress at the moment. As we can see from the number of arguments that have already occurred - the fault lines are starting to appear...

Damage control would be a very good thing, at this point - or at the very least, when things have settled down from this most recent crisis, assuming we get that luxury.

A policy would also be a good idea, but as you say, it is difficult to know where to draw the line. On the Gambit issue, I feel they have been told all they need to know - the man is dangerous and they should not go near him. Others might disagree, however.

I'm more than willing to help out with Miles today if you'd like, ma'am. And I'm glad to hear that Al's getting some sleep. I've been a touch worried about her the past few days.

That is a very good idea, and I think it should be sooner rather than later. It is too late for a trip to the amusement park, I suppose?

No problem. I'm sure Miles and I can find some sort of trouble to get into. :) Leaf-jumping, visiting Mr. Marko and his kitten, cartoons and video games...we'll have a good time.

You would think so. Perhaps a movie, if we could find one that would suit them all, or a show in New York?

Sam, if you want to kidnap our favorite little green boy, he's with me in my office right now. He's discovered the joy the the pile of pillows and the koosh balls.

...you might want to duck when you come in, though, he really seems to like the koosh balls.

Will do, ma'am. And I'll be sure to duck. :)

You're an evil bloody woman.

Next time you head for Harry's, I'll buy you a drink.

I'm very, very frightened now. Next time I have an insomnia-fest, I'm heading for the gazebo. Or maybe the boathouse. Somewhere you won't find me, Maddie, in any case... and yes, I know Moira can track me down anywhere. Don't spoil my fun.

Jesus, you people are sedative-happy over there.

For the record, I don't sleep, I don't have to sleep, and sedatives don't work anyway. Just in case anyone gets funny ideas.

Speaking of such charming company, once I offload the Muppet back onto his mom this evening, I'm heading down to Harry's for a bit to unwind. Spot you to a beer/tea/whatever?

It's a good thing I do sleep...

when it's biologically necessary.

But if you _are_ going to trank me, make sure you calculate the dosage for my biological weight, not my total weight, OK?

I don't feel like dying because you gave me too large of a dose.

Salaam,
Haroun

PS - I need to add to my gallery of All Things Alison. I'll be down with a camera.

Sure, I could use with the respite into town. I do have a dinner date later in the evening, but if you wouldn't mind going off to Harry's alittle earlier, I'd love to.

Lorna's grabbed Kermit, so any time you're up for it, drop by the boathouse.

This might be some fun.

You don't call Miles Kermit to his face, do you?

I'll be down in a minute.

But of course

I'd never dream of getting caught taking photos of unconscious patients.

And check your inbox. I love digital cameras.
