Just had a call from an old mate who's daughter is in a spot of bother in town, so I'm nipping into New York for the afternoon. I may be away overnight, I may not - depends how long it takes to get the lawyers sorted out, I suppose. I'm only mentioning this in case I do have to be out overnight, and anyone panics if I'm not about first thing tomorrow...

And here I was looking forward to dressing the kids up from the rag-box and going bar to bar with your picture and about ten ragged children telling people I was looking for their daddy... "He's gone off and drunk us poor again..." Damn. Will save it for next time. Would have made a great field trip.
