Because if I don't crash hard and wander around growling about how much I hate teaching after that first week's all said and done, my fundamental pessimism is going to be dealt a mortal blow.
(And whatever Moira says, I was not cooing at my textbooks. Just because they're all shiny, with that fresh new-book smell...)

Date: 2004-06-06 02:17 am (UTC)As for the giddy feeling--for me it was more nausea. Because I had NO idea what I was doing, or why for that matter. But I find that, well...I actually kinda like teaching. And I probably shouldn't have admitted to that here, or I'll find myself with a much bigger courseload next fall.
Oh well. ;)
