If it's felt I should resign as school staff for yelling at Jennie on the journals, I will.

Well, I'm hardly going to call for you to resign. Yes, I do think it was uncalled for you to lose your temper at her, particularly after she'd a) made some rather fumbling attempts to explain what she meant and apologize to Rahne and b) stepped away from the discussion, but I also understand how much pressure and hurt you and the others have been put under.

I don't think she intended what she said to encompass you and the rest of Elpis. She was talking to her friends and classmates. Her peers. She just picked a bad time, a bad method and a bad tone and I'm sorry you guys got hurt. But she's a teenager - they're not a breed famously known for tact and common sense.

I think most people want to yell at Jennie most of the time.

Anyhow, I can cover your classes if you just want to take a break for a couple of week. You were recently blown up after all. That usually means you need some destress time that doesn't involve obnoxious Vegas trailer girls. Go take a week in the city or something. See a play. Drink too much jager. Make fun of Marie's dating habits. You'll feel better after.

Garrison, I know you don't know everyone's damage yet, nor should it really matter where conduct's concerned, but leave all speculations on character based on knowledge of someone's background out of this. There's a pretty substantial number of residents who don't come from the best. You're not going to find the blanket assumptions well-received, even if that wasn't your intention.

Some people handle things better than others. But while we're on the payroll for this school we don't get the luxury of publically dismissing students we're here to help no matter how much they piss us off. If you have complaints about behavior, just follow the chain of command and talk to Scott, Ororo, Samson, Dani, Marie, Charles or me. Terms like "obnoxious Vegas trailer girls" are not appropriate descriptors of students in the forum viewable to the whole staff. Like Jennie was told numerous times, there's a time and a place. This isn't it.

Yeah, I know, you have to consider the source for any advice I give. But if the professor just needed to fill up the space I occupy there's a couple much more stable candidates for him to be employing. Sorry. Welcome to Xavier's. Here at the school whose charter was founded on working with a hated minority and setting an example for tolerance being PC is not an option.


Angelo, I'm sorry for the digression. You don't need to apologize for losing your temper. To us, anyway. And Garrison's right. Take some time to destress and don't worry about work. I somehow don't see either Charles or Nate compelling you.

Lord, this is the lesson I get for taking a couple nights offline. Angelo, I've already talked to you on the phone, but as everyone else said, take a temporary break not a permanent one. An apology is in order, but we all understand what you've been through.

And Gar, you aren't one to be talking about making fun of my dating habits. Just saying. But you are in store for a lecture on proper names to call students.

Angelo, some of us have done quite a bit worse, under stress. I would like to see you apologize to Jennie for swearing at her, but that's all. I certainly do not under any circumstances want to see you resign over this - you're a valued member of the staff who's under some pretty crushing stress right now, and I think everyone, even Jennie, understands that and will see your reaction in that light.

I think sometimes it's better to not even look at the journals, at times like this. It's about the hardest thing in the world to do, to turn away when you see something like that in a situation like this, but that's why they pay us the salary, or one of the reasons. We have to.

That said, you learn pretty quickly that your fellow staff's more than happy to let you vent at them rather than on the open journals. I'm sure the kids would be horrified to hear us, sometimes, but it's occasionally the only way we stay sane.
