Back in my day, when we were going to skip class, we didn't notify the teachers ahead of time. What's wrong with the traditional 'I've contacted some kind of Chinese Bird Flu and am at death's door' followed up by a badly forged doctor's note?

Just as a totally unrelated aside that has nothing to do with students sleeping in while they should be in class, I've got the new recording of the RCMP regimental band with full pipes and drums. If you play it around 8 on the volume, dogs in the next county go into hiding. Just saying I'll leave it out if anyone wants to borrow it while I'm at work tomorrow.

I assumed she had a note to be absent. Kind of hard to skip that whole truancy thing when surrounded by cameras and a reporter for People Magazine.

Yes, although it would have been funny to watch her try to explain it away afterwards. Almost as funny as the few of them who do try to pull off the fake doctor's note. Luckily, most of them figure out not to try that when their teacher is their doctor.

Not in a while but every couple of years one of the new kids comes along and doesn't think their excuse over very closely. Leads to great fun.

Kids these days completely lack any idea of how to properly skip school. There's no point of telling us ahead of time. Then we can plot and scheme to prove just what a bad idea it is to notify us.
