My dear collegues,

As some of you have been aware my health has been deteriorating somewhat as of late. In connection with that my physician recommened a small sabbatical, a brief sojourn to the warmer climes and away from the stress of work.

The estimable Dr. Grey concurred.

And now that I have finished assigning blame and diverting your righeous wrath I shall come to the point - could I perchance prevail upon any of you to take my classes for a couple of weeks in early February?

I understand that you all are working under a substantial over-load of your own duties, as it is, so if this is not compatible with your schedules I will contact someone outside the school.

Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
